Jawline enhancement is a fantastic treatment used to contour, slim down and sculpt the face, and create stunning definition along the jawline.
It can create a youthful result by tightening the face at the corners and smoothing out the sagging appearance of jowls. In men, filler can be used to create a strong, sharp, masculine jawline.

Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel made from Hyaluronic Acid, which is a naturally occurring substance found in the body. They can be used to add volume, definition and shape in areas such as the lips, cheeks and jawline, or to fill in lines such as the Nasolabial Folds (smile lines) and Marionette lines mouth to chin lines). They can also be used to reduce the appearance of dark under eye circles, and to perform a Liquid Rhinoplasty-to smooth out the humps in the nose or to provide a tip lift to droopier noses. Dermal fillers provide long-lasting results, but they are not permanent.
Hyaluronic Acid is a sugar molecule that exists naturally in most living organisms. It binds to water, holding up to 1000 times its weight, and acts like a lubricant/shock absorber to the joints in our body. It transports nutrients, regulates water balance and maintains skin elasticity. Used as Dermal Fillers, it creates a plumping, hydrated effect and sits naturally under the skin. Since Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance, it is extremely rare that it should cause an allergic reaction. Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers are also fully reversible with a dissolving product called Hyaluronadaise.
The longevity of Dermal Filler depends on a number of factors, for example the viscosity of the filler (thicker fillers are used to treat deeper areas like the cheeks and jawline). Other factors include a person’s water intake, the amount of exercise they take and how quickly their body metabolises filler. As a general guide, lip filler lasts between 6-12 months, and facial filler lasts between 12-18 months. Top ups are advised around the 6-12 month mark accordingly.
The amount of Dermal Filler needed depends on your desired results, and how the area looks before it is treated. For example, 1ml of lip filler will sit differently on someone with a smaller, narrower smile, than someone with a fuller, wider smile. Different results are achieved with different amounts respectively, however we will complete a thorough consultation at the time of your appointment, so that we can discuss exactly what results you would like to achieve, and how much product you’ll need. You may find it helpful to look through examples of our before and after pictures to find a similar result to what you are trying to achieve.
For best results, it is recommended to avoid blood thinning medication such as ibuprofen and aspirin, Vitamin E and Omega supplements, as well as alcohol for 48 hours prior to your appointment, as taking these will increase the risk of bruising and swelling.
You will be given a full aftercare advice sheet to take away with you after your treatment which will explain all the ‘dos and dont’s’, along with a little after-care kit. Some examples of what you should do is keep the area clean, apply ice to reduce swelling, and apply Arnica Gel to reduce bruising. Some examples of what not to do are drink alcohol for 48 hours, and apply heavy make up to the treated area.
Dermal fillers are suitable for most people, however there are certain situations where they are not recommended. Dermal fillers aren’t recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or those with a skin infections near the area they would like enhancing. They are also unsuitable to those who have known allergies or sensitivities to certain products like Lidocaine and other local anaesthetics. If you are taking certain medication which affects blood clotting such as Aspirin, Warfarin, Clopidogrel, Omega-3 oils, please feel free to get in touch to discuss your suitability for your desired Dermal Filler treatment. Please note that you must be 18 years old for Dermal Filler treatment.
Dermal Filler is injected with a very fine needle, and is often described as a light pressure or a pinching feeling. A topical numbing cream is applied to the area beforehand, as well as the Dermal Filler itself containing a local anaesthetic which numbs the area as we inject. This all helps to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Certain areas of the face can be slightly more sensitive to treat, but generally it is a comfortable procedure, with the results being more than worth it!
Mild swelling and/or bruising are the most common side-effects-these are totally normal and will start to subside very quickly. You will be given a copy of our thorough after-care advice which will explain how to speed the healing process up, along with a little after pack which includes a pot of Arnica Gel to reduce any potential bruising. If you are a sufferer of cold sores, there is some evidence to show that injections in the lips may trigger a new cold sore.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
